Died At Dedi Mulyadi's Children's Party, National Police Chief Raises Brigadier Cecep's Rank

JAKARTA - National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo gave the extraordinary promotion to Bripka Cecep Saiful Bahri, a member of the Karangpawitan Police who died on duty. The deceased died while securing the wedding party of the eldest son of the Governor of West Java, Dedi Mulyadi, on Friday last week.

The rank of Brigadier Cecep was raised one level to Aipda posthumous, as a form of respect and appreciation for his dedication.

"The late Bripka Cecep Saeful Bahri received an extraordinary promotion to Aipda posthumous," said Brigadier General Trunoyudo Wisnu Andiko, Head of the Public Information Bureau of the Public Relations Division of the Police, Sunday, July 20.

This posthumous promotion is stated in the Decree of the National Police Chief Number Kep/1085/VII/2025. Trunoyudo explained that the decision reflected the respect of the National Police institution for the service of the deceased in carrying out state duties.

"The deceased died in carrying out his duties as well as possible," said Trunoyudo.

This tragic incident occurred when a people's party was held at the Purwakarta Regent's Hall. The event invited thousands of residents to attend free meals provided by Dedi Mulyadi's family. However, the enthusiasm of the residents was booming and out of control.

In a crowded and unorganized crowd situation, Bripka Cecep was trampled by residents crammed into the event area. He was unconscious before finally being declared dead.

Bripka Cecep leaves behind a wife and three children, as well as traces of service as a member of the police who faithfully maintains the security of society until the end of his life.
