Head of the Capital Archipelago Authority (IKN), Basuki Hadimuljono, conducted a direct review of the progress of road construction in the Central Government Core Areas (KIPP) 1B and 1C, on Saturday, July 19.

This area is part of the development of the second phase of IKN development which is being intensified by the government. During his visit, Basuki reviewed various work packages for road improvements spread from Package A to Package G.

The project includes the construction of a 12.2-kilometer road network that uses 36- and 54-row of Way (Right of Way) type designs as a standard path width.

"It is necessary to pay close attention to the quality, the development is quite good. From the initial target of 6 percent, currently the physical progress has reached 10 percent," said Basuki in his statement.

Although the implementation period of this project is planned to be completed on December 31, 2025, he emphasized the importance of accelerating road infrastructure development as the main foundation of inter-regional connectivity in the center of the IKN government.

KIPP 1B and 1C itself are strategic areas that will become the center of various government activities, so that reliable and timely infrastructure development is a top priority.

This review is also part of the government's efforts to ensure that all IKN development projects run according to the targets and quality standards that have been set.

With the development that continues to be accelerated in various sectors, IKN is expected to be a symbol of Indonesia's modern, inclusive, and sustainable progress.

The capital city of Nusantara is located in two administrative areas of East Kalimantan, precisely in Penajam Paser Utara (PPU) Regency and Kutai Kartanegara Regency.

Based on IKN Law No. 3 of 2022, the area reaches 256,142 hectares. Phase I of IKN development has started from 2022 to 2024, covering the completion of basic infrastructure for drinking water, electricity, information technology, and waste treatment needs.

In addition, this stage also targets the completion of the construction of main facilities in the Central Government Core Area (KIPP). This facility includes the Presidential Palace, government offices, and housing for ministers.
