After Merging The Minister Of The Research And Technology, Golkar Legislator Asked The House Of Representatives Commission VII To Be Disbanded
JAKARTA - Member of House of Representatives Commission VII Dyah Roro Esti delivered a surprising proposal at the plenary session of the opening of the House of Representatives session at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Thursday, May 6.
At the plenary meeting chaired by the Deputy Chairman of the Indonesian Parliament Muhaimin Iskandar, Dyah conveyed an interruption to just dissolve the commission.
The reason is that House of Representatives Commission VII only partners with one ministry, namely the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources. After the Ministry of Research and Technology merged into the Ministry of Education and Culture.
"I want to express the heart of the majority or maybe the entire Commission VII at this time. As we know, Commission VII is currently only partnering with one ministry, namely the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources. Given that Research and Technology have joined the Ministry of Education and Culture, it automatically becomes a partner of Commission X and the Ministry of Environment and Forestry partners with Commission IV which is certainly different from the previous period. At that time the Ministry of Environment and Forestry partnered with two commissions, namely Commission IV and Commission VII", said Dyah during the interruption.
According to Dyah Roro, Commission VII would be difficult if it only partnered with the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources. Moreover, she said, his commission has ratified the Paris agreement or NDC (Nationally Determined Contributions) related to climate through Law Number 16 of 2016 which was passed with the Ministry of Environment and Forestry.
"We have difficulty monitoring the implementation of the law, considering that gas reduction is not only in the energy sector but also in the forestry sector, waste, etc.", said Dyah.
The Golkar politician views that a commission in the House of Representatives should ideally partner with more than one ministry/institution. For that, Dyah asked the leadership to add Commission VII partners to have more than one working partner.
"The point is that the leadership, in my opinion, would be less effective if Commission VII only partnered with one ministry. Given that there are also a total of 33 ministries and 11 commissions in the House of Representatives. Logically, one commission partners with 3 ministries when we share the average. That's why I really ask for the consideration of the leadership of the House of Representatives to be able to add partners who are certainly suitable for Commission VII in the energy, environment, or research and technology sectors", explained the East Java legislator.
If the partners are not added, according to Dyah, the House of Representatives of Commission VII would be better disbanded or merged with other commissions. She also asked the Leadership of the House of Representatives to consider the proposal.
"With the aim that we can carry out the supervisory function optimally and as well as possible and if not so I think it would be better if Commission VII is dissolved. It is better if we combine it with other commissions. So I beg you, I beg for your considerations. Thank you", said Dyah Roro Esti.
