Al-Jabbar Prayer Reading Complete with Arabic, Latin, and its Importance

YOGYAKARTA - The Al Jabbar prayer can be practiced by Muslims at times considered mustajab such as the last third of the night, after the fardhu prayer, in the morning after dawn and other mustajab times.

By practicing the al jabbar prayer, the heart will become calmer and more comfortable. In addition, offering prayers is also one of the efforts to get closer to Allah SWT.

It is worth noting, the Al Jabbar prayer is a prayer reading that contains Asmaul Husna (the best names), namely Al Jabbar which means Almighty.

According to Ustaz Arifin Idham in his book Kumpulan Khotbah Jumat Terlengkap, the word Al Jabbar has the meaning that everything happens with the permission and will of Allah SWT.

Al Jabbar prayer can be practiced in the form of a zikir by reciting "Ya Jabbar" repeatedly.

Quoting the book The Great Benefits of Dzikir Asmaul Husna by Syaifurrahman El Fati, there are two Al Jabbar prayers that can be practiced by Muslims and Muslim women, among others:

Based on the hadith narrated by Imam Al-Bukhari with the chain of transmission of Said Al-Khusriy, the following is the recitation of the Al Jabbar prayer that can be offered at the time of the mustajab prayer:

On the Day of Resurrection, the earth will be a single bread, and the tyrant will fill it with his hand, as one of you fills his bread with it on a journey, for the people of Paradise. (1) قیامت کے دن زمین ایک ہی روٹی ہو گی اور ظالم اسے اپنے ہاتھ سے بھرے گا جیسے تم میں سے کوئی شخص سفر میں اپنا روٹی بھر لیتا ہے، جنت والوں کے لئے۔

Arabic: Takūnu al-arḍu yawma al-qiyāmati khubzah wāḥidah yatakaffauhu al-jabbāru biyadihi kamā yakfa'u aḥadukum khubzatahu fī al-safari nuzulan li'ahli al-jannah.

"On the Day of Judgment, the earth will be like a loaf of bread that Allah Al-Jabbar (the Almighty) treats as one of you treats his bread when he is on a journey, as a meal for the people of Paradise."

The second version of the Al Jabbar prayer is written in the Quran, specifically in Surat Al-Hasyr verse 23. The text is as follows:

He is Allah, the One, the Conqueror, the Most Pure, the Most Safe, the Most Peaceable, the One who gives security, the One who has power over all things, the One who is the Lord of all things, Glory be to Allah from what they associate. Arabic: Huwallāhullażī lā ilāha illā huw, al-malikul-quddụsus-salāmul-mu`minul-muhaiminul-'azīzul-jabbārul-mutakabbir, sub-ḥānallāhi 'ammā yusyrikụn

"He is Allah, there is no god but He, the King, the Holy, the Preserver, the Powerful, the Omnipotent, the Supreme, the Exalted. Glory be to Allah from what they set up (with Him).

According to Salahuddin Abbas in the book entitled Rahasia Agung Asmaul Husna, the prayer Al Jabbar is often used as a daily zikir to draw closer to Allah SWT.

This prayer is practiced with the aim of obtaining protection from all forms of injustice.

As the Almighty God (Al Jabbar), Allah SWT has full power to do anything according to His will. By practicing this prayer, a Muslim and Muslimah will get protection from Allah SWT from various threats and dangers.
