Missile Attacks And Hundreds Of Russian Drones Hit Ukrainian Odesa
JAKARTA - Russian troops launched a mass drone attack on the city of Ukraine's Black Sea port, Odesa, which burned a multi-story apartment building and killed one resident.
In recent weeks, Russia has intensified its attacks on cities in Ukraine, prompting US President Donald Trump to sharpen his tone against Russia and threaten harsher sanctions.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said the attack on Odesa injured six people, including a child.
Russia launched more than 30 missiles and 300 drones in attack on Saturday, July 19 in the morning affecting 10 regions of the country.
Ukraine has sought additional support from allies to deliver aid and invest in domestic production to counter Russian attacks.
Five missiles and 30 drones hit 12 locations, and seven locations were hit by an aerial object, the Ukrainian air force said.
Both sides have denied targeting civilians in Russia's war against its smaller neighbor more than three years ago. Thousands of civilians were killed in the conflict, mostly Ukrainians.
In the Northeastern Sumy region, the latest drone strike damages critical infrastructure, causing thousands of families to lose access to electricity.
The Mayor ofTEN, Hennadiy Trukhanov, said 20 unmanned aircraft had gathered in the city, which is often Russia's target, and he said at least one building of burning-story apartments.
