Huawei Has A Step To Beat Samsung! Mobile Folds 3 Of The Latest Generation To Bring Satellite Features And Super Sophisticated Cameras

JAKARTA The competition in the world of folding smartphones is getting hotter! After Samsung is predicted to soon launch its first trifold phone, Huawei is now stealing public attention again with a leak of their latest three-generation foldable phone which is expected to be named Huawei Mate XT 2. This device is the successor to Huawei Mate XT, the first trifold phone ever released commercially in the world.

The latest leak came from the famous Digital Chat Station tipster through the Weibo platform. He shared a number of key specifications of the device that is strongly suspected of being the Mate XT 2, based on registration documents at China's certification agency, TENAA. One of the most interesting features? Satellite communication support, something that many modern flagships don't even have yet.

According to the leak, the Huawei Mate XT 2 will be powered by the Kirin 9020 processor, Huawei's latest chip that provides a significant performance improvement over its predecessor. In addition, this device is rumored to be carrying a 50MP main camera with a variable aperture, meaning users can dynamically regulate the lens opening according to lighting conditions a feature that is rarely found on folding phones.

Not only that, Huawei is also said to be improving the telephoto periscope camera for better optical zoom results, making Mate XT 2 not only superior in design, but also in the photography sector.

Satellite Feature Returns

Mate XT 2 is predicted to still maintain Tiantong satellite calling technology, similar to the one in Mate X5. This technology allows users to stay connected even without conventional cellular networks. Uniquely, Huawei in the previous generation only activated this feature when the device was fully folded, but it is not yet known whether Mate XT 2 will change this approach.

The new model that appears in the TENAA document has the model number GRL-AL20, which is the successor to GRL-AL10 (First Generation Mate XT). The existence of 5G connectivity and satellite features clearly indicates that Huawei is serious about bringing innovation to the next level.

Although Samsung has yet to release its first smartphone trifold believed to be the Galaxy G Fold or Z TriFold, Huawei is one step ahead. In the Chinese market, Huawei has proven to have great power and big name, which makes it potentially big to dominate the three-fold phone segment first.

Samsung itself is rumored to be equipping their triplet device with the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, the same as the one used in the Galaxy S25. But if Huawei manages to bring the Mate XT 2 to market first-over.

With a combination of innovative design tri-folds, satellite connectivity, high-end cameras, and the latest processors, Huawei Mate XT 2 is ready to pose a real threat to Samsung's dominance in the foldable flagship mobile market. Although it has not been officially announced, this leak further strengthens Huawei's position as an aggressive innovator in the tech industry.
