15 Percent Of Jakarta ASNs Experience Mental Problems, Kadinkes: Initial Screening Of SRQ

JAKARTA - Head of the DKI Jakarta Health Service (Dinkes) Ani Ruspitawati said 15 percent of state civil servants (ASN) in the Jakarta Provincial Government who experience mental problems are the result of initial screening. Thus, it cannot be concluded directly that they suffer from mental disorders.

"So it has not diagnosed a mental disorder, just the initial screening," Ani told reporters quoted on Saturday, July 19.

The initial screening used the Self Reporting Questionnaire or SRQ. The results of the examination only indicate that there is a potential mental problem but it needs to be observed further.

"The results of mental health screening do not aim to determine diagnosis such as anxiety and others. However, SRQ screening aims to quickly identify & initial screening tools, only identifying symptoms that may be related to mental health," he said.

Further examination of ASN who have the potential to experience mental health problems will be carried out by psychiatrists. So, it can be ascertained whether there is a mental disorder.

"Therefore, the positive results of SRQ need further confirmation by health workers or psychiatrists," said Ani.

Previously, it was reported that not only mental problems, as many as 62 Jakarta ASNs suffered obesity or were above normal weight due to excessive fat buildup.

"From the results of the ASN health examination conducted in 2024, there are several results that we may have to pay attention to. There are 62 percent of those who are obese," said Ani.

In addition, as many as 15.4 percent of ASN's physical condition is overweight and 24 percent are not fit. In addition, as much as 27.6 percent have hypertension, and 5.7 percent have diabetes mellitus.

In fact, according to Ani, Jakarta ASN can be considered as an example or role model for the community. Therefore, civil servants should regularly carry out sports campaigns.

"All of us as ASN are role models. Role models to unite to the community and invite them to have an active lifestyle," said Ani.
