BMKG Forecasts Majority Of Indonesia's Big Cities Cloudy This Saturday

JAKARTA - The Indonesian Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) predicts that the majority of major cities in Indonesia will be shrouded in clouds and/or rained today, Saturday, July 19.

Through a weather forecast broadcast in Jakarta, BMKG Prakirawati Nurul Izzah explained that the weather in Java is generally thick cloudy, namely in Serang City, Jakarta, Bandung, Semarang, Yogyakarta, and Surabaya.

"For weather predictions on the island of Sumatra, for Tanjung Pinang City, the weather is generally cloudy. Then thick clouds are predicted in the areas of Medan, Pekanbaru, and also Padang. But for friends in Banda Aceh, they need to be wary of, there is the potential for rain to be accompanied by lightning and lightning," he said, quoted by Antara.

Still in the Sumatra region, Nurul explained that the weather is generally thick cloudy, such as in Jambi, Palembang, Pangkalpinang, and Bandar Lampung. However, in Bengkulu City there is still the potential for rain with light intensity.

Shifting to Kalimantan, the weather is predicted to be cloudy in Palangkaraya and Banjarmasin, thick cloudy in Pontianak and Samarinda, as well as running air in Tanjung Selor.

"Departing to Bali and Nusa Tenggara, for Kupang City, it is predicted that it will be cloudy, for cloudy Denpasar, and in Mataram City there is the potential for air to escape," he explained.

For Sulawesi, Nurul explained the areas of Manado, Gorontalo, Makassar, and also Kendari, the weather is generally predicted to be thick cloudy. However, light rain still has the potential to occur in Mamuju City and also in Palu City.

As for Eastern Indonesia, the weather is predicted to be thick cloudy in Ternate City. However, light rain is predicted to occur in the cities of Ambon, Sorong, Manokwari, Nabire, Jayapura, and Jayawijaya.
