Taeil Ex NCT Files An Appeal After Sentenced To 3.5 Years In Prison
JAKARTA - Former NCT member, Taeil filed an appeal after receiving a sentence of 3.5 years in prison for the rape case. He filed an appeal on Wednesday, July 16, the day after the public prosecutor also filed an appeal against the verdict.
On July 10, the Seoul District Court sentenced Taeil to three years and six months in prison for violating him to be found guilty in a quasi rape case. Taeil and two of his friends admitted the act in the first trial but asked for leniency.
"He voluntarily gave a statement to the police, and despite the difficulties, he reached an agreement with the victim who also submitted a request for no punishment," Taeil said in a statement.
Not only Taeil, two of his friends who received the verdict have also appealed to the court.

Previously, the prosecutor demanded a sentence of seven years in prison and a work ban of 10 years for the three perpetrators.
Taeil, who was present at the trial, also did not give a statement on the verdict he received. After reading the verdict, Taeil and his two friends were immediately detained by the police.
In June last year, Taeil and two of his friends raped a woman from China by making her unconscious.
A month later, the SM Entertainment agency that oversees Taeil announced Taeil's exit from the NCT group.
