Former Acting Head Of Tanah Harapan Village Village Becomes A Suspect In Village Fund Corruption Of IDR 631 Million

SIGI - The District Attorney's Office (Kejari) of Sigi Regency, Central Sulawesi has named the former acting village head of Tanah Harapan, Palolo District, with the initials JRY, suspected of committing a criminal act of corruption in the misuse of village funds with a total state loss of Rp. 631 million.

"So the defendant Acting Head of the Tanah Harapan Village Village is proven to have committed a criminal act of corruption, namely irregularities in the use of Village Funds (DD) and Village Fund Allocation (ADD) from 2017 to 2019," said Head of Section (Kasi) Intel Kejari Sigi Resky Andri Ananda, quoted by ANTARA, Friday, July 18.

He stated that his party had issued a warrant to the investigative team dated July 11, 2025 to carry out a forced pick-up effort against the person concerned as a witness to undergo examination of the case.

"The village head has been summoned several times for examination but has never been cooperative so we forcibly picked up his parents' residence on Jalan Anoa, North Tatura Village, South Palu District, Palu City," he said.

He said JRY was forcibly picked up and an examination was carried out at the Central Sulawesi Prosecutor's Office.

"So the Sigi Kejari has named the Acting Head of the Tanah Harapan Village as a suspect and those who conducted the investigation, including the examination of the person concerned before being named a suspect in the case of irregularities in village funds," he said.

According to him, JRY was found guilty after investigators stated that they already had sufficient evidence.

"Currently, the suspect has been detained at the Class II A Detention Center in Palu for 20 days from July 16 to August 4 in accordance with statutory provisions," he said.

Resky said that the case of deviation from village funds began with the results of the inspection of the Sigi Regency Regional Inspectorate on the financial management of Tanah Harapan Village, Palolo District for the 2017-2019 fiscal year.

"The results of the inspection of the Sigi Inspectorate, there are indications of irregularities in the use of village funds and the allocation of village funds, because in the activity planning process, the preparation of the Village Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBDes), physical implementation, and the preparation of village financial accountability reports are fully controlled by the Acting Head of the Tanah Harapan Village," he said.

He explained that the suspect was also in village financial responsibility from 2017 to 2019 a number of activities reported to have been completed 100 percent but in reality they had never been implemented or were fictitious.

The village head is suspected of fulfilling the elements of criminal acts of corruption as regulated in Article 2 and Article 3 of Law Number 31 of 1999 as amended by Law Number 20 of 2001 concerning the Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption.
