Management Deactivates General Manager Of JKT48 In The Aftermath Of Unsatisfactory Cases

JAKARTA - The name Fritz Fernandez, General Manager (GM) JKT48, has been widely discussed among fans in recent times. This is because Fritz's photo in the past has been indecent.

Many fan accounts on X have uploaded photos of Fritz celebrating his birthday in 2021. However, the problem is that GM JKT48 holds a modified tar cake with the shape of a male genital at the top. The words embedded also contain pornography.

Fans are so angry with the appearance of the photo. They even made an online petition 'worrying how Fritz handles idols, where all women and many are minors.

"Is it appropriate for a group of women to have an unethical General Manager?" the petition reads, quoted Friday, July 18

Responding to the issue, JKT48 management through an official statement announced that they had known, continued to monitor, and immediately took action on issues circulating.

The statement also said Fritz Fernandez had been temporarily disabled from his position, given that a thorough internal investigation was underway.

"Currently, we are conducting a thorough internal investigation to ascertain the facts and take firm and responsible steps. During the investigation process, we temporarily disabled the person concerned from his role in the related team," reads the official statement of JKT48.
