"I will ask the South Sulawesi National Road Implementation Center (BBPJN) to immediately coordinate with the Public Works service in Tana Toraja so that technical steps can be taken immediately," said Dody as quoted from his written statement, Friday, July 18.

Meanwhile, Tana Toraja Regent Zadrak Tombeg said that Tana Toraja used to be known as one of the national leading tourist destinations, but is currently experiencing a decline in tourist visits, one of which is due to inadequate road access.

Therefore, he said, support is needed to repair road infrastructure from the central government, in this case the Ministry of Public Works.

"To restore the glory of the tourism sector, we need support for road infrastructure improvement," he said.

In addition, according to Zadrak, good roads are also needed for smooth distribution of agricultural products and community plantations to marketing centers.

Zadrak also expressed his gratitude for the willingness and readiness of the Ministry of Public Works to help develop infrastructure in his area.

"This effort to increase connectivity is expected to further encourage economic growth and improve the welfare of the people in Tana Toraja," he concluded.
