Upbit Indonesia Supports PP 28/2025, Strategic Steps For Blockchain Future
JAKARTA - Upbit Indonesia welcomes the implementation of Government Regulation (PP) No. 28 of 2025 concerning the Development and Utilization of Blockchain Technology. This regulation is an important milestone in the journey of official recognition of blockchain technology in Indonesia, and is also a strong signal that the government is ready to encourage the growth of a secure, adaptive, and innovative digital ecosystem.
PP 28/2025 itself marks a new era of blockchain regulation in Indonesia which makes this technology part of a national digital strategy that is regulated, facilitated, and supervised. Fresh air from regulatory classification is becoming increasingly clear for business actors, especially for crypto asset trading. This is a step forward for Indonesia so that it is not left behind in the development of the global digital economy.
Upbit Indonesia itself hopes that the strengthening of security and diversification of the storage of digital assets owned by users will be carried out according to the highest security standards and hopes that the government will consider adding more holistic provisions in its implementation.
"We hope that a storage diversification policy is needed so that assets are not concentrated on just one entity or location. This aims to minimize systemic risk where users' assets are not located in one place which we hope can increase public confidence in security in investing," said Resna Raniadi, Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Upbit Indonesia, quoted Thursday, July 17.

In the midst of opportunities and challenges in efforts to develop the digital economy, Upbit Indonesia highlighted the importance of appointing supervisory authorities that not only focus on protecting users, but also have orientation on business development and ecosystems.
The regulations applied need to create a balance between security and innovation so as not to hinder growth for business actors themselves. Currently, a number of provisions are considered not yet pro to the expansion and innovation of business actors, so improvement is needed through active dialogue between regulators and business actors, as well as a thorough understanding of the dynamics of the industry that occurs in the field. "added Resna.
In the future, Upbit Indonesia will continue to support the implementation of PP 28/2025 by strengthening synergies with the government, industry players, and other stakeholders through open discussion forums, educational campaigns, and the launch of initiatives to build a secure, innovative, and inclusive blockchain ecosystem for all Indonesian people.
