Diogo Jotabadikan Dalam Mural Di Dekat Anfield

JAKARTA - A new mural to commemorate Diogo Jota has been completed near Anfield by artist John Culshaw.

This mural is one of the many honorary supporters outside Anfield for Jota, who died in a car accident near Zamora, Spain, along with his brother, Andre Silva, on July 3, 2025.

The mural features Jota in a celebration moment with her hand forming a heart.

"As Liverpool supporters, we know how to deal with tragedy and show our gratitude to someone who has given us so much."

"I chose this picture to be painted for showing Diogo sending love to supporters. By capturing it in our city, it shows that we are sending the same love," Culshaw said.

Last week, Liverpool announced to retire the jersey number 20 at all levels of the men and women team in honor of Jota.

"Diogo has given us so many memories, it is appropriate for him to remain our number 20 forever," Culshaw said.

Meanwhile, Merseyside's first pre-season game this summer against Preston North End was filled with respect for Jota.

Liverpool's next match is against AC Milan in Hong Kong on July 26, 2025.
