Superman Is Dead Chooses To Relax Responding To Royalty Issues Performing Rights

JAKARTA - Superman Is Dead (SID) does not want to think too hard about the issue of music royalties, which in recent times has become a major focus in the Indonesian music industry.

When asked about the acceptance of royalties from the works they produced, the personnel admitted that they still received royalties from the label, which incidentally included in mechanical rights.

"So far, from Sony Music, it's coming in," said Jerinx (drums) to media crews in Kuningan, South Jakarta, Wednesday, July 16.

"Only, the amount is not billions," said Bobby (the main vocal, guitar).

However, when asked about the royalties of performing rights, especially in the context of music performances, whose management is submitted to the National Collective Management Institute (LMKN) and the Collective Management Institute (LMK) of SID personnel do not seem to have studied it too much.

"What is LMK?" said Jerinx.

The personnel do not want to bother, especially when other people bring their works on the music stage.

"We're doing the SID song ourselves, it's okay if other people perform our songs, we're diligent in tagping us, it's not a problem," said Eka (bass, vocals).

"We also can't control things like that. We don't have power or power," said Bobby.

"In fact, it's part of promotion," said Eka again.

For SID, attracting royalties from other people who perform their songs is not a top priority. However, if there is a system aimed at providing justice for all actors of the music ecosystem, the band from Bali expressed readiness to provide support.

"If it is used as a good thing, we will accept it. We will definitely support something fair," concluded Bobby.
