IPL Opens Cans For Athletes Outside Pelatnas To Appear At SEA Games 2025
JAKARTA Indonesia Pingpong League (IPL) opens the widest opportunity for athletes outside the national training (national training camp) to defend Indonesia at the 2025 SEA Games later this year.
Currently, a total of 16 athletes, consisting of eight daughters and eight sons, are ready to enter the table tennis national training.
The athletes are the result of the national selection (selection) of the Ministry of Youth and Sports (Kemenpora) in May 2025.
IPL Secretary General, Yon Mardiyono, said that the names who entered the national training did not fully guarantee that they would defend Indonesia at the 2025 SEA Games.
"It is possible for athletes outside the national training to take part. So, our mindset is looking for the best athlete. The point is to open space for all athletes. Everyone has a chance," said Yon in Jakarta, on Thursday, July 17, 2025.
