Until When Will Ole Romeny Be Out For The Indonesian National Team?

JAKARTA - The terrible incident experienced by Ole Romeny when appearing in the 2025 President's Cup required him to be sidelined due to a leg injury. This situation made him have to undergo a complete recovery and was threatened with absence from defending the Indonesian National Team (Timnas) on the closest agenda.

Previously, Ole, who defended Oxford United, suffered an injury against Arema FC. Paulinho Moccelin's hard tackle made Ole fall overturned and struggled to walk.

A few hours after the incident at Si Jalak Harupat Stadium last week, Ole seemed to show the condition of his leg which had to be taken seriously.

The player even had to use an ankle walker boot to protect the injury in the right ankle area.

Regarding Ole Romeny's condition, Sumardji as the manager of the Indonesian national team stated that the current situation was quite worrying.

Therefore, he also cannot guarantee that Ole can play for the Garuda Squad in the FIFA Match Day which will take place in September 2025.

"September 2025 I'm not sure. Hopefully later (October 2025 can play)," said Sumardji in a statement quoted on Thursday, July 17, 2025.

Regarding how long it will take for Ole's recovery process, Sumardji also cannot answer for sure.

He could only hope that the attacker could appear when the Red-White Team competed in the Fourth Round of the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers which took place in October 2025.

"Well, it's a bit difficult to answer (about the recovery time), yes. Yes, just pray that hopefully we (Indonesian National Team) in the Fourth Round of Qualification, Ole can play. Later we will update the information on Ole's injury," he said.

There was no official statement regarding the details of Ole Romeny's injury. He is only rumored to have to go up the operating table on Thursday, July 17, 2025. There were rumors that he had broken his leg, precisely in the ankle area.

The 25-year-old player who was born in the Netherlands became an important figure as the spearhead of the Indonesian national team.

After holding an Indonesian passport, Ole scored one goal each against Australia, Bahrain, and China in the Third Round of the 2026 Asian Zone World Cup Qualifiers.
