Mauro Zijlstra Naturalization Progress, Processed At The Ministry Of Law And Human Rights

JAKARTA - PSSI Executive Committee (Exco) member, Vivin Cahyani, revealed the development of Mauro Zijlstra's naturalization. The file for the candidate for Indonesian national team player has now been entered at the Ministry of Law (Kemenkum).

If the process at the Ministry of Law and Human Rights runs smoothly, Ziljstra's naturalization file will then be brought to the DPR RI. After that, this Dutch player will be invited to a meeting at Commission III and Komis XI of the DPR RI.

"Now the process has been completed. At the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the support is also good. Everything is good. Now (the naturalization file) is already in the Ministry of Law and Human Rights. I think he (at the Ministry of Law and Human Rights) will work quickly," said Vivin Cahyani in a statement quoted on Thursday, July 17, 2025.

Mauro Ziljstra's recruitment as a candidate for the Indonesian national team cannot be separated from the efforts to thicken the Garuda Squad which will appear in the Fourth Round of the 2026 World Cup Qualification. This was revealed by the Chairman of PSSI, Erick Thohir.

If all the processes run smoothly, Ziljstra is expected to get the trust of the coach of the Indonesian national team, Patrick Kluivert.

"Yes, come back, if you remember who dreamed of going to the World Cup two years ago? We know what rank we are? One hundred times when I entered. Well, now at 118. What does that mean?"

"It doesn't mean we are pessimistic, we are still trying. However, two years ago who dreamed? Two years ago, if we said 2 x 11 players, if there was an injury we would be dizzy," said Erick Thohir separately.

Mauro Ziljstra's entry, at least, can patch players who are absent due to injury and other things. Moreover, there is the potential for Ole Romeny not to appear because he has just suffered a serious injury.
