Economic Growth Of Palangka Raya Capai 6.62 Percent, More National Average

Mayor of Palangkaraya, Central Kalimantan (Kalteng) Fairid Naparin revealed that economic growth in Palangkaraya City reached 6.62 percent and became the highest in the local province.

"Based on BPS data as of July 6, 2025, out of 13 regencies and one city in Central Kalimantan, our economic growth is the highest at 6.62 percent, exceeding the national average which is at 4.87 percent," Fairid said as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, July 16.

He explained that the achievement of economic growth put Palangkaraya City in 5th position nationally on the list of 20 cities with the highest economic growth in Indonesia.

He explained that this achievement could not be separated from the contributions of various sectors, ranging from trade, services, MSMEs, to infrastructure strengthening. In addition, community support in maintaining purchasing power and local stability also strengthens regional economic foundations.

"This growth is a strong signal that Palangkaraya has economic resilience as well as an inclusive and competitive direction of development," he explained.

He added that the Palangkaraya City Government is committed to continuing to strengthen cross-sectoral cooperation and maintain the momentum of economic growth that has been achieved.

"With the spirit of collaboration, we make this growth the foundation of people's welfare," he said.

This statement was made when he was confirmed regarding the influence of the implementation of the Palangkaraya Fair 2025 on economic growth in the local city.

"Palangkaraya Fair 2025 is one of the government's efforts to increase the economic growth of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and the community," he said.

The Palangkaraya Fair 2025 will last for five days on July 15-19 2025 by presenting exhibitions of regional apparatus innovation, potential information and business opportunities, exhibitions of MSME products, culinary, music concerts and various other people's entertainment.

Head of the Palangkaraya City Trade, Cooperatives, Small and Medium Enterprises (DPKUKMP), Samsul Rizal as chairman of the Palangkaraya Fair 2025 committee explained that his party had prepared 156 outlets.

"We have prepared 60 indoor booths and 105 outdoor tents at Palangkaraya Fair 2025, each booth can be filled with one to two participants," he said.

He explained that the prepared booths will be used for Regional Apparatus Organizations (OPD) of Palangkaraya City, OPD partners outside the region, industry players, companies, banks, State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN), Regional Owned Enterprises (BUMD), MSME players and other parties participating in the annual event.

Samsul Rizal said, in general, the Palangkaraya Fair was implemented to promote regional potential and inform investment opportunities and in order to facilitate business actors to carry out promotions on a more outer scale.

"In addition, in order to support the recovery of the national economy, attract investors, expand the market share both domestically and internationally and spur innovation, creativity and competitiveness of MSME actors," he said.
