GIS Optimizes Digitization And AI To Maintain Smooth Supply Of Building Materials In The Market

JAKARTA - PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (SIG) is increasingly strengthening the transformation of technology-based industries to support operational reliability, one of which is by optimizing digitalization and artificial intelligence (AI) in the management of supply chain management.

The application of digital technology and AI in the management of supply chains aims to ensure smooth distribution and ensure the availability of building material products throughout Indonesia more measurably and effectively on a massive scale.

Digitization implemented by SIG in the management of distribution and delivery facilities of goods, has helped efficiency and effectiveness ranging from monitoring inventory, to reporting supply chain costs that are presented actually and accurately for quick and precise decision making.

Vita Mahreyni explained, digitization and use of AI technology have proven successful in improving the performance of supply chain management. In addition to reducing the risk of running out of goods (stock out) in distribution facilities, this optimization also has a positive impact on increasing order fulfillment by 1.16% or equivalent to 118,000 tons of cement for the November 2024 period February 2025. Data consolidation time has also become faster than a matter of days to only 2 hours.

The application of AI technology also complements GIS innovation in supply chain management. Not only providing priority recommendations for delivery of goods based on the status of inventory in customer warehouses, AI technology can also provide projections based on customer transaction history data.
