Government Takeover Of HGB And HGU Land Avoids Agrarian Conflict
JAKARTA - Social media was enlivened by netizen comments regarding the statement of the Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/BPN Nusron Wahid regarding the takeover of abandoned land.
Head of the Presidential Communication Office (PCO) Hasan Nasbi responded to this to reporters at his office, Central Jakarta, Wednesday, July 16.
According to Hasan Nasbi, the takeover of abandoned land was not carried out unilaterally. According to Hasan Nasbi, the rules have been stated in Government Regulation (PP) Number 20 of 2021 concerning Control of Abandoned Areas and Lands which has been in effect since February 2021.
Hasan Nasbi emphasized that there was a mechanism that was carried out before the takeover was carried out, namely going through a waiting period, warning up to three times until finally decisive steps were taken.
The regulation applies to all forms of land rights, ranging from Cultivation Rights (HGU), Building Use Rights (HGB), rights to use, to property rights. One of the goals is to avoid agrarian conflicts.
