Don't Force Shopping In Tanah Abang Market, It's Full!
JAKARTA - Senator of Regional Representative Council from DKI Jakarta Fahira Idris appreciates the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government for being responsive in handling the problem of the surge in visitors at the Tanah Abang market.
"It has been handled and followed up very well by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government in collaboration with the TNI (Pangdam Jaya) and National Police (Polda Metro Jaya)", Fahira told VOI, Thursday, May 6.
According to her observation, Tanah Abang's condition has returned to normal at this time. The provincial government has also formulated a strategy to prevent a surge in visitors at Tanah Abang Market and other markets in Jakarta.
According to Fahira, several strategies, for example, are deploying 5000 joint personnel from the National Police, TNI, and Civil Service Police Unit to supervise visitors, adjusting KRL Commuter Line operating hours at Tanah Abang Station by evaluating the arrival and return hours of Tanah Abang market visitors and providing TransJakarta feeder buses to operate from Jatibaru Street, has been effectively implemented to prevent crowds at Tanah Abang Market.
The Deputy Chairman of Regional Representative Council Committee I urged people who want to shop to also shop at other markets in Jakarta.
"Do not insist on going to Tanah Abang if the visitors are full. Wherever and whatever we do, the health protocol is the main thing. This is for the benefit of us together", said Fahira Idris.
