Revitalization Of Tambak Pantura Java Opens Investment Opportunities, KKP Ensures Ease Of Licensing

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) said that the revitalization of ponds on the North Coast (Pantura) of Java will open up investment opportunities in the fisheries sector.

Director of Infrastructure and Facilities of the Directorate General of Fisheries, Budi Daya KKP, Ujang Komarudin Asnadi, said that the entry of investors coincided with the ease of business licensing from the government.

"The revitalization of the Pantura pond is one of the big programs, especially when it shifts to other areas, for example. Of course, here we will also open up opportunities for investors to also be involved in business activities in the area," said Ujang on the Bincang Bahari agenda entitled "Reformation of Marine and Fishery Sector Business Permits Through PP 28/2025 at the KKP office, Jakarta, Wednesday, July 16.

Regarding regulations, Ujang ensures that his party provides a conducive climate for business activities. One of them is through Government Regulation (PP) Number 28 of 2025 concerning the Implementation of Risk-Based Business Licensing issued on June 5, 2025.

The regulation revoked the previous regulation, namely PP No. 5 of 2021 concerning the Implementation of Risk-Based Business Licensing.

"Well, if you have talked about investors, right, there must be a permit there. So, how can we make it easier, shorten and make this licensing system more efficient in Indonesia," he said.

The plan is that the KKP will revitalize the Pantura pond with a total of 78,550 hectares (ha) of pond candidates in the next two years.

Especially this year, the government is pursuing the revitalization of the 20,413.25 ha pond area in four West Java districts, namely Bekasi, Karawang, Subang and Indramayu.
