New York And New Jersey Flooded, Closing The Subway Line
JAKARTA - Some areas of New York and New Jersey were flooded after heavy rains flushed the northeastern region of the United States (US) on Monday night local time.
Citing AP, Tuesday, July 15, the flood caused the vehicle to be stuck in the middle of the highway, closed the subway line, and set a disaster emergency warning in how many areas.
The warning was in place in several areas of New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, and surrounding areas as heavy rains still hit the region.
In New York City, several subway services were suspended while other routes were severely delayed due to flooding, according to the Metropolitan Transport Authority (MTA).
New York's emergency service agency on social media platform X informed that several areas of the city and the central area of Hudson were also hit by flash floods.
Video posted on social media showed a flood submerging Manhattan subway station, submerging the platform, while passengers were still adamant on the train
Another photo shows passengers standing on the train chair to avoid the water that is starting to wet the public transport floor.
Several major highways in New York, such as the northern route of Saw Mill River Parkway and the Crosswah Expressway, were temporarily closed due to high flooding and at least one tree fell.
