Meeting With KSAL This Afternoon, The DPR Defense Commission Discuss KRI Nanggala-402

JAKARTA - Commission I DPR RI scheduled a meeting with the joint opinion of the Chief of Staff of the Indonesian Navy (KSAL) Admiral Yudo Margono to discuss the KRI Nanggala-402 submarine incident.

Deputy Chairman of Commission I DPR RI, Abdul Kharis Almasyhari confirmed that one of the meeting agendas discussed the issue.

"One of them (the Commission I and KSAL meeting)," he told reporters, Thursday, May 6.

This meeting is planned to be held in the Commission I meeting room, the MPR / DPR building complex, Senayan, at around 13.00 WIB. However, it is not yet known whether the DPR Commission I meeting with KSAL Admiral Yudo Margono was held openly or not.

Member of Commission I DPR RI from the PPP faction, Syaifullah Tamliha, said that the meeting was open or closed according to the agreement of the meeting participants.

"It depends on the agreement between Commission I and the TNI Commander. But in my opinion it is better to be open so that the public can hear directly from the official forum and the form of transparency of the TNI to the public," he said.

Another agenda that is planned to be discussed is the current condition of the Indonesian Navy's defense equipment and the plan to modernize the Indonesian Navy's defense equipment, especially submarines.
