BoA Cancels Single Concert After Undergoing Knee Surgery

JAKARTA - BoA solo singer cancels her single concert which is scheduled for August 30 and 31. The SM Entertainment agency revealed that their artist will undergo surgery on her knee.

"We regret to inform you that BoA's fifth solo concert was discontinued due to health-related problems," SM Entertainment said on Tuesday, July 15.

"BoA was just diagnosed with acute osteonecrosis that required surgery after (BoA) visited the hospital due to deteriorating knee condition," he said.

The medical authorities suggest that reducing physical activity including dancing should avoid increasingly developing problems.

"To avoid deteriorating conditions and undergo surgery, he decided to continue the procedure," the agency said.

As a result, BoA's solo concerts scheduled for August 30 and 31 were canceled. We apologize for the concern over this news. This decision was made with the artist's health as our priority and we ask for your understanding," the agency said again.

The agency is also preparing gifts for fans as a celebration of BoA's 25th debut. Given that the single concert was canceled, SM will release an album on schedule.
