Kanye West Concert In China Is 40 Minutes Late, Spectators Ask For Money To Be Returned

JAKARTA - Kanye West's latest concert in Shanghai, China is not running smoothly. The show marking the rapper's return to the stage must be disrupted by technical problems and bad weather.

In the show which was attended by around 72,000 spectators, Kanye West was 40 minutes late to get on stage resulting in thousands screaming and demanding a refund.

According to a report by The Hollywood Reporter, the atmosphere at the Shanghai Stadium before the show began had to be disrupted by heavy rains that flushed the stage and the audience through an open roof.

The audience became even more nervous when it entered 19.30 local time, where Kanye West's nickname did not appear on stage according to the information schedule. That's when the audience shouted demands that their money be returned.

At around 20:10, finally Ye walked towards the ash stage, wearing black leather pants and a gray hoodie that read "China" on the back.

Smoke, projection, and spotlight create a firm performance atmosphere, such as the design of the Donda stage, but with a less visual element. Every now and then, a big projection is radiated onto the stage, while the screen displays additional footage that has been overhauled.

In the midst of the ongoing concert, it was stated that Kanye West was a hot topic of conversation on Chinese social media, and sparked debate among fans.

Some fans defended Ye and blamed the weather for the delay in performances, while others argued that it all happened because of the rapper's actions or even cynical tactics to profit from China when his image was still slumped in the West.

Previously, Slovakia's largest rap festival, Rubicon, had to be canceled due to a petition signed by thousands of people 'protes Kanye West's appearance as the main star.

Kanye West's latest controversy took place on May 8 this year coinciding with the 80th anniversary of Germany's defeat in the Second World War when he released a song titled 'Heil Hitler'.

Earlier this year, the rapper was also charged with discrimination charges and accused of sending text messages "Wil Hitler" to Jewish Yeezy employees.

Then in February, the rapper deleted his Yeezy site, leaving only a white shirt with a large swastika picture on the chest available for sale.

The song also caused Ye to be barred from traveling to Australia, and Australian Interior Minister Tony Burke confirmed that the rapper's visa had been revoked.
