IDR 40 Million In Hand, 2 Officials In Baubau Entangled In OTT Prosecutor's Office For Software Shopping Cases

BAUBAU - Baubau District Attorney (Kejari) conducted a hand arrest operation (OTT) on five people related to alleged corruption at the Inspectorate of Baubau City, Southeast Sulawesi (Sultra), last Monday at around 14.00 WITA in Katobengke Village, Murhum District.

Head of the Baubau District Attorney's Office Fatkhuri said the five people who were arrested were the Head of the Baubau City Inspectorate with the initials AA, the Baubau LM Procurement Service Unit (ULP) Procurement Officer, the EK Young Expert Planner, the WN Inspectorate Treasurer, and a goods provider with the initials ARK.

They are suspected of being involved in corruption in capital expenditure activities of intangible assets in the form of software for medium application network equipment at the Inspectorate of Baubau City for Fiscal Year 2025.

"After an examination for approximately eight hours, two people were named as suspects, namely AA and LM," said Fatkuri when contacted in Kendari, Antara, Tuesday, July 15.

Fatkhuri explained that LM played a role in receiving money from the ARK provider on the orders of the Head of the AA Inspectorate.

Meanwhile, the other three people did not have enough evidence and only acted as a means of transaction of the two suspects.

In the OTT, investigators helped secure Rp 40 million in cash which was already in LM's hands.

Mereka disangkakan melanggar Pasal 2 ayat 1 subsider Pasal 3 Undang-Undang Nomor 31 Tahun 1999 juncto Undang-Undang Nomor 20 Tahun 2001 tentang Pemberantasan Tindak Pidana Korupsi, juncto Pasal 55 ayat 1 KUHP, dan Pasal 12 huruf E UU No. 31 Tahun 1999 juncto UU No. 20 Tahun 2001.

The two suspects are currently being held at the Class IIA Baubau Penitentiary for the next 20 days. They are suspected of violating Article 2 paragraph 1 subsidiary Article 3 of Law Number 31 of 1999 in conjunction with Law Number 20 of 2001 concerning Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption, in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code, and Article 12 letter E of Law no. 31 of 1999 in conjunction with Law No. 20 of 2001.
