Minister Of Environment Review The Demolition Of Buildings After The Peak Flood

JAKARTA - Minister of Environment (LH) Hanif Faisol Nurofiq directly supervised the demolition of one of the buildings in Puncak which was subject to administrative sanctions after a flood occurred at the location some time ago.

At the demolition site in Puncak, Bogor Regency, West Java, Minister of Environment and Forestry/Head of the Environmental Control Agency (BPLH) Hanif conducted a joint review of the ranks of CV Sakawayana and PT Perkebunan Nusantara I Regional 2.

"So today in accordance with the time given by the Ministry of Environment, the main director has started the demolition. It is projected that in the next few weeks these buildings will gradually be torn down according to the mandate of government administrative sanctions," explained Hanif as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, July 14.

He expressed his appreciation for the response from one of the 13 operating cooperation (KSO) in the PT Perkebunan Nusantara (PTPN) I Regional 2 area which was subject to administrative sanctions by the government for not having environmental approval documents and contributing to environmental damage in the area.

In addition to Sakawayana's building, KLH/BPLH have also given a deadline for other KSOs to demolish independently the buildings they have.

If he does not carry out the demolition according to the time limit and does not provide an explanation to the KLH/BPLH, Hanif said that there is the potential for weighting sanctions and the possibility of imposing criminal articles.

"So we will go up to criminal charges related to the handling of 13 KSOs who have received sanctions from the Ministry of the Environment of Life if they do not meet the principles given in administrative sanctions," he explained.

He also ensured that he would oversee the environmental recovery in the area together with the local government and PTPN I Regional 2.

Previously, KLH/BPLH had issued administrative sanctions in the form of demolition orders and termination of activities for 13 companies.

In the near future, apart from CV Sakawayana Sakti, there will be demolition of three other tenants operating in the Gunung Mas Agrotourism area, PT Taman Safari Indonesia, PT Tiara Agro Jaya, and PT Prabu Sinar Abadi, all of which are working with PTPN I Regional 2.

The move has responded to flooding that has occurred in the region in recent times. A total of 13 KSOs out of 33 KSOs have been subject to administrative sanctions by the government, with the KLH also asking the local government to revoke the licensing documents for 9 KSOs.
