The Boyolali Police have uncovered a case of alleged violence against two children chains up on the terrace of a house in Mojo Village, Andong, Boyolali Regency, Central Java.
Boyolali Police Chief AKBP Rosyid Hartanto said the police had set SP (60), the owner of the house where he found two children in a state of chains.
The police chief said SP was a religious figure around the scene.
From the suspect's statement, he said, his parents entrusted the two children to be cared for in the place known as the shelter.
"The two children have been at the house for about two months," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, July 14.
The suspect referred to the actions of the two children's legs as punishment for being considered a violation.
The crime was revealed from residents' reports when conducting a search of the alleged theft of the charity box.
While searching, residents found two children lying in chains in front of the terrace of a house.
Residents then cut the chain and feed the two starving children.

The place, he continued, did not have official permits and escaped public supervision.
