Russia Accuses Ukrainian Drones Of Hitting Training Center At PLTN Zaporizhia
JAKARTA - The Ukrainian drone attacked a training center at PLTN Zaporizhia on Sunday evening, the administration formed by Russia for the nuclear powered nuclear power plant in Ukraine said Monday.
"The enemy uses three unmanned aerial vehicles," the administration said through the Telegram messaging application.
However, the administration said no critical damage was recorded.
The management of the Russian-mounted power plant said in a statement the power plant "continues to operate normally, with all necessary safety precautions being implemented."
Reuters was unable to independently verify Russia's report.
The report comes a day after the United Nations nuclear watchdog, the IAEA, said it had heard hundreds of light weapons fire on Saturday night at the nuclear power plant.
It is known that Russian forces seized PLTN Zaporizhia in the first weeks of Russia's invasion of Ukraine in February 2022. Each side alternately accused other parties of shooting or committing other actions that could trigger a nuclear accident.
