PSG Coach Luis Enrique Is Out Of The Issue Of Pushing Pedro: Everyone Is Involved

Luis Enrique said he tried to separate the players in the fight after the match at the end of Paris Saint-Germain's Paris Saint-Germain defeat in the 2025 Club World Cup final against Chelsea after a video recording showed him pushing Joao Pedro to the ground.

Chelsea's 3-0 win ended in a hot mood following a red card received by Joao Neves from PSG in the 86th minute for pulling the hair of the Blues defender, Marc Cucurella. The two camps clashed during the final whistle.

Pedro, Gianluigi Donnarumma, and Achraf Hakimi were involved in the confrontation before Luis Enrique seemed to push the Chelsea player's face.

However, the former Barcelona coach said that although the scene was not in the best condition, he was trying to calm the situation down.

"I have no doubt to express my feelings at the end of the game under high pressure."

"It's very tense for all of us. It's impossible to avoid it. Everyone is involved."

"That's not the best and it's the final result of the pressure of the game. I've seen (Chelson's Enzo) Maresca."

"I saw him push other players and we had to separate all the players. I don't know where the pressure came from."

"However, this is a situation that we all have to avoid. Of course. My goal is to separate the players so that the situation does not worsen," Enrique said after the match.

On the other hand, Joao Pedro said he thought some PSG players might have lost their minds for a while after the defeat. However, he seemed to ignore the situation while speaking at the mixed zone.

"I don't need to comment on them because it's normal. Everyone wants to win the game."

"In the end, I think they lost their minds. However, this is football, this has happened. Now we have to enjoy it because we won the tournament, that's all."

"I don't want to talk too much about them because you know how it works. Football is like that," said Joao Pedro.

Meanwhile, after suffering a surprising defeat, which thwarted PSG's chances of adding titles to the 2024/2025 season trophy storefront already containing Champions League, Ligue 1, and Coupe de France trophies, Luis Enrique said his team was not a loser.

"We are not losers, there are no losers. We are runners-up. The loser is someone who gives up."

"In this high-level sport, there are no losers at all," he said.

Luis Enrique and PSG will get the necessary rest time after the 2025 Club World Cup ends.

They will return to action on August 17, 2025 when the Ligue 1 2025/2026 competition begins.
