Revealed! This Is The Reason Starlink Doesn't Accept New Customers In Indonesia

YOGYAKARTA Starlink, a satellite-based internet service developed by SpaceX, has decided to no longer accept new users in Indonesia. This news was conveyed by Starlink on its official website on Sunday, July 13, 2025. The reason Starlink does not accept new customers in Indonesia is related to the available capacity.

As we know, Starlink was present in Indonesia in May 2024. The launch ceremony was held in Denpasar, Bali and was attended directly by SpaceX boss Elon Musk.

At the beginning of its appearance in Indonesia, Starlink immediately received the spotlight because it could bring connectivity to areas that had not been reached by the communication infrastructure.

To enjoy the Starlink internet, users must buy hardware in the form of a signal recipient parabolic from Starlink for IDR 7.8 million and pay a subscription fee of IDR 750 thousand per month.

Now that it has been operating for more than a year, Starlink has announced that they no longer accept new users in Indonesia. Why?

The reason why Starlink does not accept new customers in Indonesia was conveyed in an announcement entitled 'An Important Note for New Customers in Indonesia' which was uploaded on their official website.

Starlink services are currently not available to new customers in your area because of the capacity sold out throughout Indonesia," reads Starlink's official statement, quoted Monday, July 14, 2025.

In addition, Starlink has also temporarily suspended the activation of new devices for customers who buy via retail or third-party sellers.

People who are interested in this internet service are still buying up to make deposits to secure a place on the waiting list. They will receive a notification when the service is back available.

However, Starlink stated that they could not provide time estimates on service availability.

Starlink only said that they were working with related parties to bring Starlink back to Indonesia.

"We cannot provide an estimated availability time (services), but our team is working with local parties to bring Starlink to Indonesia as quickly as possible," wrote Starlink.
