Old Friend James Gunn Reveals Reasons For Inviteing Bradley Cooper In Superman
JAKARTA - Director James Gunn opened his voice about the reason for inviting Bradley Cooper to appear as a cameo in the Superman film. Cooper and Angela Sarafyan played Jor-El and Lara Lor-Van, the parents of Kal-El.
It is known that the role was previously filled by the late Marlon Brando in Christopher Reeve's version of the Superman film in 1978. However, Brando was not present at the sequel due to a conflict with the producer, then the scene that was removed was seen in the 2006 Richard Donner version of the film.
Bradley Cooper and James Gunn met in the trilogy of the Guardians of the Galaxy film where Gunn directed and Cooper voiced Rocket.
"Bradley is my friend and I need someone who can play Jor-El and I don't think this is a spoiler, everyone knows this," said Bradley Cooper.
"(We are looking for) someone who looks like what we imagined, someone who can continue Marlon Brando's steps," he said.

In addition, Gunn also wants to take pictures of parents who do not look like the elderly but still look mature as Jor-El's parents.
Several times, Jor-El is played by a 70-year-old man and means he is 70 years old when he has someone who is not too old. Everyone carries the name of an actor who is too old for me," continued James Gunn.
"I think Bradley is perfect, what he did for me because he's my friend, and I really appreciate him for doing it," he said.
Apart from Cooper, several actors who made cameos in the film Superman are Will Reeve, John Cena, Sean Gunn, Pom Klementieff, Michael Rooker and Milly Alcock.
The James Gunn version of Superman is a sign of DC's new cinematic universe after Gunn became the leader of DC Studio. In Gunn's version, Superman is played by actor David Corenswet.
