Jakarta Fair 2025 Closed, Rano Karno Claims Jakarta's Economy Is Still Strong
JAKARTA - Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta Rano Karno stated that the Jakarta Fair Kemayoran 2025 was successful with a transaction achievement of IDR 7.3 trillion and the number of visitors reached 5.9 million people.
According to Rano, these results show that Jakarta's economic condition is still quite strong despite the slowdown in the national economy.
The visitors are close to 6 million. Revenue also exceeds the target, Rp7.3 trillion. This indicates that Jakarta's economy is fine-fine only," said Rano after the closing of the Jakarta Fair 2025 at JIExpo Kemayoran, Sunday, July 13 evening.
Although this year's total transactions were lower than last year's achievement of IDR 7.5 trillion, Rano considered the decline reasonable because the duration of the exhibition was shortened by one week due to the schedule for clashes with the Indo Defense 2025 exhibition.
"Indeed, there was a decline because it started late, almost a week, because of Indo Defense. So it was suspended for one week, that's the reality," he said.
In the future, the DKI Provincial Government together with JIExpo are committed to holding the Jakarta Fair for a full month so that economic potential is maximized.
"It has to be full a month. Indeed, the schedule is full a month," said Rano.
This commitment is also to welcome the moment of Jakarta's 500th anniversary in 2027.
"Well, hopefully next year's Jakarta Fair will be much bigger. I have spoken to Mrs. Murdaya (President Director of JIExpo Kemayoran) that in the framework of 500 years in Jakarta, the Jakarta Fair must be bigger than ever before," he added.
Rano also promised to evaluate a number of public inputs, especially regarding ticket prices that were considered expensive.
"Of course we will evaluate a lot. There are expensive ticket inputs. We will evaluate it later. Saturdays and weekends are definitely expensive, normal days are usually normal," he said.
Jakarta Fair Kemayoran 2025, which was held from June 19 to July 13, lasted more briefly seven days than last year. The fireworks party is the closing of the event which displays thousands of tenants from various sectors, starting from automotive, fashion, food and beverages, to music entertainment every night. The entrance ticket price is priced at IDR 40,000 on weekdays and IDR 50,000 on holidays.
