Banten Police Name 2 Suspects In The Pollution Case Of Ulama On TikTok
SERANG - The Directorate of Special Criminal Investigation (Ditreskrimsus) of the Banten Police has named two people as suspects in the alleged defamation case against the head of the Al Fathaniyah Serang Islamic Boarding School, Matin Syarkowi, through TikTok social media.
"Based on the results of the investigation and investigation, we have named two people as suspects, namely SA alias Mahesa Albantani and SI alias Kingofmen," said Director of Criminal Investigation at the Banten Police Kombes Yudhis Wibisana in Serang, Antara, Sunday, July 13.
This case stems from uploading a 51-second video on the TikTok account @kingof jurisprudence which displays the face of the reporter accompanied by a cornering narrative and public invitations to track his identity. The reporter felt disadvantaged and considered his honor to have been attacked through electronic media.
The video was taken without permission and narrated with baseless accusations. This includes an attack on the honor of the reporter," said Yudhis.
During the investigation process, investigators from the Sub-Directorate V Cyber Banten Police secured a number of evidences in the form of several mobile phones, TikTok and YouTube accounts, as well as digital documentation. In addition, investigators have also examined witnesses, including linguists and ITE experts.
The two suspects are suspected of violating Article 48 Paragraph 2 in conjunction with Article 32 Paragraph 2 and/or Article 45 Paragraph 4 in conjunction with Article 27 Letter A of Law Number 1 of 2024 concerning the Second Amendment to Law Number 11 of 2008 concerning Electronic Information and Transactions, in conjunction with Articles 55 and 56 of the Criminal Code.
We continue to explore this case. Currently, investigators are coordinating with the public prosecutor (JPU) to proceed to the next stage," he said.
As part of the principle of transparency, investigators have also sent a Notice of Investigation Results (SP2HP) to reporters regarding any development of the case.
