Pacu Line Claimed By Malaysia, Riau Governor Affirms The Origin Of The Original Kuansing Tradition
PEKANBARU - A route tradition from Kuantan Singingi Regency (Kuansing), Riau, is currently viral and in the spotlight because it is allegedly claimed to be Malaysian culture by a number of netizens in the neighboring country.
"The lane pattern has been in Malaysia, precisely in Penang since the 12th century introduced by Datuk Noor Hidayat," wrote the TikTok account @_d54*.
"Pacu jalur asli Malaysia dari angulan kita siapa pun tampak jalan ada di Indonesia itu artificial intelligence (AI)," kata @alifffras**.
Pacu jalur original dari Malaysia, @a.c.a.**08.
Responding to this issue, Riau Governor Abdul Wahid firmly said that the runway is the original tradition of the Kuansing people which has even existed hundreds of years ago.
"The trail that developed in Riau has existed for centuries and has become a tradition. This was originally a public transportation and they tried to compete and this competition was preserved by the people upstream of Kuantan," said Abdul Wahid, in his statement, Sunday, July 13.
He emphasized that Pacu Line has even been recognized as an intangible cultural heritage by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
In line with Abdul Wahid, Head of the Riau Tourism Office, Roni Rakhmat, said that the Pacu Line was only held in Kuantan Singingi Regency, which was not found elsewhere.
"This means that the preservation of crocodiles is in Kuantan Singingi. This claim is the dark of social media, which is clear that we are just focusing on the preservation of how in the future this Pacu Line will continue to exist, be preserved and of course there are new innovations and bring more tourists to Kuantan Bay," he concluded.
