Taking A Closer Look At Coffee, Rubber, And Cengkeh Plantations, Tourists From Spain Enjoy Jember Tourism
JAKARTA - A number of tourists from Spain visited tourist attractions in the Mount Pasang Plantation area in Jember Regency, East Java to find out more about coffee, rubber, and cloves in the local plantation area.
"The arrival of tourists from Spain wants to know about coffee and rubber plantations and the processing process. They are very enthusiastic to see workers taking rubber sap from their trees," said Head of Tourism Division of the Jember Tourism Office, Deta Irama Kasih in the local district, as reported by ANTARA.
According to him, the activity of visiting foreign tourists is part of an eco-tourism program that aims to introduce natural wealth and sustainable plantation practices in Indonesia.
"Tourist groups are invited to explore plantation areas and are introduced to coffee, rubber, and clove cultivation, as well as rubber tree tapping techniques to latex processing processes from raw materials to ready to sell," he said.
The Spaniard is also interested in the practice of plantations that are environmentally friendly and local wisdom values guarded by people in plantation areas.
"In addition to visiting plantation tourism, tourists are also invited to enjoy the sound of patrol music in Kampung Wetan Pasar Tanjung. They really enjoy the music of Patrol The Legent," he said.
He explained that patrol music is one of the traditional Jember music that is usually used to wake up people's sahur in the month of Ramadan.
Music that uses kentongan musical instruments combined with foam and kendang creates a unique rhythm, so it is not only entertainment, but part of the cultural identity of Jember.
Deta said the visit of a group of tourists from Spain to Jember in mid-July 2025 was the second because previously the Spanish tourist group also visited at the end of June 2025.

According to him, Jember Regency has become known to foreign tourists who were brought by a number of travel agencies specifically to bring foreign tourists to Indonesia.
The city of Pandhalungan has the opportunity to boost foreign tourist visits, especially from European countries with trip plants.
