Budi Arie: The Red And White Kopdes Will Make It Easy For Villagers To Get Subsidy Goods

Minister of Cooperatives (Menkop) Budi Arie Setiadi said that later the presence of the Red and White Village Cooperative (Kopdes/Kel Merah Putih) would make it easier for villagers to get subsidized goods from the government.

This was stated by Budi Arie in his remarks at the Commemoration Day of the 78th Cooperative at the Office of the Ministry of Cooperatives (Kemenkop), Jakarta, Saturday, July 12.

"With the Village and Red and White Village Cooperatives, subsidies for villagers no longer have to wait long, but can be accessed by villagers at the set price and the right time," he said.

Budi Arie said the Kopdes/Kel Merah Putih would collaborate with farmer groups, other sector cooperatives, Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMDes), private businesses and academics.

According to him, as many as more than 80,000 Kopdes/Kel Merah Putih are tools provided so that people are free from the shackles of poverty.

"That way, the Village and Red and White Village Cooperatives will become the centers of economic activity in villages, covering the production and distribution centers of villages, where these cooperatives streamline economic costs that were previously detrimental to rural communities," said Budi Arie.

"The 80,000 Village and Red and White Village Cooperatives are not only economic institutions, but the people's movement that targets farmers, fishermen, MSME players throughout the country," he continued.

In addition, Budi Arie reminded that the accountability of the Kopdes/Kel Merah Putih must continue to be strengthened.

"The management of cooperatives must be better, so that cooperatives are increasingly trusted by the community. We want cooperatives to be a rational choice for every citizen of the nation to put hope and develop their business," he said.
