9 Hectares Of Talented Land As A Result Of Forest And Land Fires In Old Padang
The Center for Disaster Management Operations Control (Pusdalops PB) of North Sumatra recorded nine hectares of burned land due to forest and land fires (karhutla) that occurred in North Padang Lawas (Paluta) Regency.
Based on a report from the North Sumatra Pusdalops, the forest and land fires occurred in Batang Onang District and Padang Bolak Tenggara District on Friday (11/7).
Pusdalops said that forest and land fires in Batang Onang District occurred in Pasir Hampolu Village, Hopong, which caused about seven hectares of land or gardens to catch fire. Meanwhile, forest and land fires in Padang Bolank Tenggara District occurred in Mompang II Village, which resulted in about two hectares of land or gardens being burned.
Pusdalops said the number of refugees, injured victims, or dead, for this incident was nil.
Head of the Emergency, Equipment and Logistics Handling Division of the North Sumatra Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) Sri Wahyuni Pancasilawati said the report was temporary data received by the North Sumatra PB Pusdalops.
"The number of refugees, injured victims, and dead, based on reports received nil," Sri Wahyuni was quoted as saying by ANTARA, Saturday, July 12.
Yuyun, as he is familiarly called, said that various efforts to deal with the disaster had been carried out by a number of related policy makers.
"The BPBD of North Padang Lawas Regency has coordinated with the local government and related parties to make various handling efforts," he said.
Based on the report from the North Sumatra PB Pusdalops, he continued, the current condition of the forest and land fires in the two sub-districts had been successfully extinguished.
