TNI Steps Against The Threat Of KKB Papua
JAKARTA - The Papuan armed criminal group (KKB) or terrorist group has recently returned to spreading threats. The security forces and civilians are the targets of this group.
In order to overcome this, the government and security forces will pursue and arrest this group to be held accountable for their actions.
"Both to the people of Papua and the people of Indonesia as a whole," said Head of Information for Kogabwilhan III Colonel Czi IGN Suriastawa to VOI in a short message, Wednesday, May 5.
According to Suriastawa, currently his party together with the relevant ranks are finalizing the plan to make an arrest. Because the handling of this group is not like the terrorists that have existed so far.
"There is still the finalization of the OPM terrorist countermeasures plan, where the handling is not like the terrorists that have been handled by the police," said Colonel Czi IGN Suriastawa.
Preparation of plans needs to be done considering that this group carries out its action on three fronts. Namely the political front, the clandestine front and the armed front.
"That is why it needs concrete handling so that there are no innocent victims of society," he said.
On this occasion he said that the government was not wrong to classify the KKB into a terrorist organization, because it always carried out terror both through murder, armed violence targeting civilians and officials, as well as destroying public facilities by burning schools, puskesmas, and others.
Previously, the Chief of the Kimak Village Tribe, North Ilaga District, Puncak Regency, Papua Abelom Kogoya invited and appealed to his residents not to be provoked by the massive terrorist KKB Group in the area lately.
When met in Kimak, Abelom admitted that he was threatened with being shot dead by the OPM Terrorist Group led by Numbuk Telenggen. However, that did not discourage Abelom.
"The public must remain calm, not be influenced or provoked by the actions of the OPM Terrorists because the TNI / Polri are always ready to maintain the security of citizens in Papua," Abelom said, Tuesday, May 4.
A local religious figure, Pastor Menaser Labene, said that this terrorist group had also disturbed the tranquility of residents who live in the Muara area, North Ilaga District, Puncak Regency.
As reported on Sunday, May 2, the OPM terrorist group reportedly burned down the Mayuberi Elementary School building, teachers' housing, the old puskesmas building, and damaged road and bridge facilities connecting the closest villages.
