KPK Reveals BRI Integrity In Alert Category After Determining 5 Corruption Suspects In EDC Procurement
JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) revealed the results of the 2024 Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI) integrity assessment survey (SPI) or BBRI. As a result, the state-owned bank is included in the alert category.
"KPK noted that BRI's score is in the alert category, which is 73.95," said KPK spokesman Budi Prasetyo to reporters in a written statement quoted on Saturday, July 12.
This figure, continued Budi, was taken from 19 BRI work units throughout Indonesia. "There is a lack of achievement scores in the dimension of goods and services procurement (PBJ) with a value of 71.95 to human resource management (HR) of 78.65," he said.
The findings were requested by the KPK to be corrected by Bank BRI. Moreover, the anti-corruption commission is currently handling allegations of corruption in the procurement of EDC machines at Bank BRI.
"KPK continues to encourage the importance of strengthening the corruption prevention system for perpetrators or business entities, especially in the procurement sector for goods and services that are vulnerable to misuse," said Budi.
Budi also said that his party would continue to provide assistance to business actors or business entities, including BRI.
"We through the Directorate of Anti-Corruption of Business Entities (AKBU) of the KPK also provide guidelines for Preventing Corruption (PANKEK) for the Business World as a practical reference in providing comprehensive recommendations and evaluations of the procurement system," he said.
Previously reported, the KPK announced five suspects in alleged corruption in the procurement of EDC machines for Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI) or BBRI. They are Catur Budi Harto who is the former Deputy Director of Bank BRI; Indra Utoyo who is the former Director of Digital Information Technology (ICT) and BRI Operations; and Dedi Sunardi who is the SEVP of BRI's Activatement and Procurement Management.
