Found Hanging On Campus Tree, Pollution Investigate Death Of UNM Makassar Lecturer

JAKARTA - The Rappocini Sector Police (Polsek) investigated the cause of death of a lecturer at the Makassar State University (UNM) known as Harlin Yusuf who was suspected of committing suicide and was found hanging from a tree from the Health Polytechnic Campus (Poltekkes) of the Makassar Ministry of Health.

"That's right, the victim is a UNM lecturer. Currently his body is still at Bhayangkara Hospital (divsum)," said Rappocini Police Chief Kompol Ismail quoting Antara.

The victim's body was found by residents hanging from a tree in a pathetic condition at the Poltekkes Campus complex of the Makassar Ministry of Health, Emmy Saelan Street, Tidung Village, Rappocini District.

The residents reported the incident to the police, and then carried out the crime scene (TKP) and evacuated the victim by lowering his body and then taking him to Bayangkara Hospital.

From the initial examination, there were no signs of violence on the victim's body after an examination was carried out at the hospital. It is suspected that the victim died of suicide.

From the identification of the South Sulawesi Police Dokpol team and Inafis initially had difficulties because the victim did not have identification. However, it was later discovered that he was a lecturer at UNM, the Special Education Department of the Faculty of Education (FIP).

Police also found a motorcycle with police number DD 6618 FT allegedly belonging to the victim near the scene of the incident close to the victim's tree hanging.

"We received reports from residents, there were people hanging themselves. The results of the examination were pure suicide, there were no indications of abuse. But we are still handling this case," he stressed.

When asked what was the motive until the victim ended his life by committing suicide, said Ismail, it was still in the process of deepening investigators and had not found any clues and were still gathering information.

The Head of Public Relations of UNM Burhanuddin when confirmed confirmed that the victim was one of the lecturers at UNM. "That's right, the person concerned is our lecturer. The faculty has conveyed their condolences," he said briefly.

The same thing was conveyed by the Dean of FIP, Prof. Abdul Samad, confirming it. "He really is our lecturer at the Special Education Department," he said briefly when confirmed by reporters.

The victim is known to be a government employee lecturer with a work agreement or PPPK and is an alumni of Halu Oleo Kendari University, Southeast Sulawesi Province.
