JAKARTA - The Special Economic Zone (SEZ) of Industropolis Batang continues to show its commitment as a center of growth for the added value-based manufacturing industry in Indonesia. In the momentum of a specific working visit of Commission VII DPR RI during the IV trial for the 2024 2025 session, this area received widespread appreciation for the readiness of infrastructure, ease of investment, and synergy that was built between the central, regional governments, and industry players.

In the activity which took place at the Industropolis Batang SEZ Ballroom Management Office, the Chairman of the Commission VII DPR RI Team, Erna Sari Dewi, SE, emphasized that this area is a concrete example of the success of downstreaming the industry which is carried out with a collaborative approach.

The readiness of the Industropolis SEZ Batang is not only seen from the complete and modern infrastructure, but also from the collective spirit that is built. This is an area with great potential to create added value for the nation, and most importantly provide direct benefits for the surrounding community. We encourage local involvement to continue to be strengthened in every stage of the development of this area," said Erna Sari Dewi, in her statement, Friday, July 11.

President Director of PT Kawasan Industri Terpadu Batang (KITB), Ngurah Wirawan, added that this area is not only present as an industrial location, but as an integrated ecosystem that answers investor needs and guarantees sustainability.

We are building the Industropolis Batang SEZ as a growth space for the future industry. Here, investors not only get convenience, but also trust. Each meter of this area is designed to accelerate the downstream process, create efficiency, and open up wide job opportunities for the community," explained Ngurah Wirawan.

Member of Commission VII DPR RI, Dina Lorenza Audria, also expressed a deep impression on the progress of this region which she considered to be extraordinary and promising.

"Everything needed by the industry is available in Batang. Infrastructure, land, and licensing services, everything is well integrated. We hope that the surrounding community can continue to be empowered and enjoy this growth," said Dina Lorenza.

Meanwhile, Novita Hardini, a member of Commission VII DPR RI, highlighted the importance of this SEZ as a symbol of Indonesia's optimism in facing global competitions.

KEK Industropolis Batang is a new hope for national economic growth. In the midst of global tensions, this area provides a sense of security for investors. They don't need to think about supply chains from upstream to downstream everything is ready. This is proof that Indonesia is able to compete, and I invite more investors to come to Batang," said Novita Hardini.

Not to forget, Yoyok Riyo Sudibyo, a member of Commission VII DPR RI who also served as Regent of Batang for the 2012 '2017 period, also expressed his pride when he returned to his now rapidly growing homeland.

Seeing the development of Batang today makes me proud. This area is even more jos! The presence of the industry has brought regional potential to life and opened up many opportunities for the community. Continue to grow, continue to be useful," said Yoyok Riyo Sudibyo.

As of June 2025, 31 tenants have joined the area with a total development of 4,300 hectares. KEK Industropolis Batang is not only designed as an industrial area, but also as a national progress axis that bridges development ambitions and the welfare of the community.

This visit of Commission VII also strengthens the message that when countries, industry, and society run together, growth can not only be achieved but also enjoyed evenly. SEZ Industropolis Batang is proof that the future of the Indonesian industry is being built, starting from Batang.
