Tanah Abang Garapan Station PTPP Presents Public Friendly Facilities And Ready To Accommodate 300 Thousand Passengers
JAKARTA - PT PP (Persero) Tbk (PTPP) has re-recorded its achievements. This time the completion and operation of Tanah Abang Station with its new casings. The public can already enjoy a number of facilities that increase the comfort and usefulness of the Tanah Abang train station with its new look.
This strategic project with the ownership of the Directorate General of Railways (DJKA) aims to transform Tanah Abang Station into a center for modern transportation integration capable of serving up to 300,000 passengers per day.
This increase is a response to the high volume of KRL users and public transportation in the Jabodetabek area. The project worth more than Rp309 billion includes the construction of a new station building with a building area of 18,150 m2, the revitalization of existing lines along the 1,489 metersingle track, as well as the addition and development of various supporting facilities.
The transformation of Tanah Abang Station includes the expansion of lanes and platforms. The number of active rail lines has increased from 4 to 6 tracks. In addition, the number of platforms has increased from 2 to 4 percent, so that it can increase the capacity of passenger services which previously could only accommodate a total of 150,000 people to 300,000 people per day.
The new Tanah Abang Station building is also designed with a humanist and inclusive public service concept. The facilities provided include MSME areas, office rooms, toilet facilities on each floor (two male toilets each and 2 women's toilets on the left and right sides of the building), toilets with disabilities, nursing rooms (nursery rooms), lost and found rooms, health facilities rooms, and 7 elevator units as well as 11 units of escalators that support the vertical mobility of passengers.
PTPP Corporate Secretary Joko Raharjo, said that his party was proud to be able to contribute to this transformation project.
The Tanah Abang Station is now present as a modern, safe and comfortable hub-intermodal station. The success of this project cannot be separated from solid cross-contractor innovation and collaboration," he said.
Joko also explained that the construction process of Tanah Abang Station as one of the busiest stations in Jakarta, all construction work was carried out carefully at 00.00-04.00 WIB to maintain the smooth running of KRL operations. In addition, PTPP ensures that it is related to the best quality and work safety (zero accident) in the construction process.

Furthermore, Joko said, PTPP implemented a number of construction innovations to support work efficiency and safety, such as the South Weel Roles, which allows the process of quickly assembling and moving wesels in a limited time, the Base Plate Lifting Point Mall, a lifting point tool that can be used for all column types and accelerates the process of lifting steel columns without the need to replace tools for each type of column, as well as the Paint Protection Net Spray, which allows painting to continue even though the station is operating.
