PalmCo Disburses IDR 1.13 Billion, Repairs Road Access In Company Operational Area

JAKARTA - PT Perkebunan Nusantara IV PalmCo, which is under the auspices of the PTPN III Plantation Holding (Persero) poured funds of more than Rp1.13 billion to repair road access around its operational area.

This improvement was made through the Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) program, throughout the first semester, PTPN IV PalmCo has repaired at least 19.74 kilometers of roads.

This road is an access for residents living in the company's operational areas and is spread across five active regions of PalmCo, covering areas in the provinces of North Sumatra, Jambi, West Kalimantan, and Lampung.

President Director of PTPN IV PalmCo Jatmiko Santosa said the road repair program had a positive impact in the community.

The main goal of this program is to improve infrastructure and open access to life.

"In addition to repairing roads, TJSL also connects public expectations for various accesses, including education, distribution of agricultural products, to health services," he said in an official statement, Friday, July 11.

Jatmiko also said that apart from the TJSL program, there were also other roads that were also repaired by the company and covered a much longer road.

"We also do road repairs on the garden production road which is also used by local residents for daily activities, and of course this is far, very long longer than the TJSL program," he explained.

Jatmiko said the road repair was a form of synergy that was naturally built between the company's operations and the interests of the surrounding community.

One of the areas that felt the direct impact of this program was Jalan Dusun Labak, Tayan Hulu District, Sanggau Regency, West Kalimantan.

In the area, PalmCo through Regional 5 repairs two kilometers of road.

Not only in West Kalimantan, similar programs are also targeting North Sumatra, such as Simalungun, Asahan, and Labuhan Batu Regencies, which are part of Regional 1 and 2.

In Jambi, road construction is carried out in Batang Hari, Sarolangun, and Muaro Jambi, while in Lampung, repairs reach the Central Lampung area such as Sukawaringin Village and Srikaton Village.

"If this road cannot be passed, then we have to go further and it can increase the travel time by more than two hours," said Syukur, a resident of Sukawaringin.
