Krakatau Steel Aims For Steel Exports To BRICS Member Countries
JAKARTA - PT Krakatau Steel (Persero) Tbk or Krakatau is targeting the global steel market through bilateral relations with BRICS countries in line with Indonesia joining the organization.
Krakatau Steel's Director of Finance and Risk Management, Daniel Frizgerald Liman, said Indonesia's joining in the BRICS membership opened up opportunities for the company to enter the global steel industry.
Furthermore, Daniel said, Krakatau Steel will optimize the potential for steel industry development cooperation with BRICS member countries.
"The company will also take full advantage of the opportunities it can get by joining Indonesia with BRICS, including opportunities for cooperation in the development of the steel industry and the provision of raw materials," he said in an incidentile public expose online on Friday, Friday 11.
Previously, Krakatau Steel had also signed a memorandum of understanding or MoU for a jumbo project worth 30 billion yuan or 4.18 billion US dollars, equivalent to Rp. 67.6 trillion (assuming an exchange rate of Rp. 16,185 per US dollar) with Xiamen ITC Group Co., Ltd. and PT Dexin Steel Indonesia.

President Director of Krakatau Steel, Akbar Djohan, said Krakatau Steel as part of the Indonesian delegation collaborated with Xiamen ITG Group Co. Ltd. and PT Dexin Steel Indonesia in collaboration with steel products such as Slab, Hot Rolled Coil, as well as other potential collaborations.
