YouTube Will Remove Trending And Now Trending Pages, Replace With Charts
JAKARTA YouTube says that it will remove the Trending page and Now Trending from its platform. Both pages will be replaced with special Charts categories.
This change is made to present popular content to its users. Instead of displaying a single list for all trending content, YouTube will begin replacing popular content in the specific category on YouTube Charts.
YouTube stated that this change is in line with the evolution of content trends. In 2015, the Trending page was more needed because users tended to search for viral videos. However, such page types are deemed no longer needed.
"The audience is increasingly learning trends on various YouTube platforms, ranging from recommendations and search suggestions to Shorts, comments, and Communities. With this change, visits to the Trending page have decreased significantly over the last five years," YouTube said, quoted on Friday, July 11.

Charts containing these various categories already includes many trends, ranging from Trending Music Videos, Weekly Top Podcast Events, to Trending Film Trailers. YouTube plans to add more content categories in the future.
"We will continue to add more content categories to the charts over time. While we are making more charts, the Game Exploration page will remain your main choice for video games Trending," added YouTube.
This change seems to be implemented globally, including in Indonesia. Users can already visit YouTube Charts by visiting the Charts.youtube.com/id site.
