Komdigi Bersama Indosat, Cisco, Dan NVIDIA Luncurkan Indonesia's AI Center Of Excellence
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs together with Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison (Indosat or IOH), Cisco, and NVIDIA, officially launched the initiative of the Indonesia's AI Center of Excellence.
Seperti di beberapa negara, Wamenkomdigi Nezar Patria menegaskan bahwa bahwa peluncuran CoE ini diharapkan dapat menghadirkan program-program komprehensif untuk mendorong inovasi AI di Indonesia.
"For example, the Stanford Center of Excellence for AI Lab provides an opportunity to exchange two-way knowledge between lecturers, students, and industry partners. Every COE can have its own typical program," Nezar explained at the press conference for the launch of the Indonesia's AI Center of Excellence on Friday, July 11.
This CoE is also expected to be the main engine that directly translates the upcoming national AI roadmap into real programs and can be implemented in the future.
Nezar explained that the CoE was designed to strengthen the five main pillars of national AI, including leading a national ethics audit so that AI remains inclusive and fair, as well as standardizing technology and security and strengthening data governance for interoperability.

"Third, about talent. CoE will support scholarships, national certification, AI curriculum reforms, and public literacy programs, empowering millions of people with the digital skills needed in the future," he continued.
Then, regarding investment, CoE will play an important role in securing and directing the necessary funding and providing AI-specific investment funds for our national priority programs.
"And lastly, the most important thing is research and development (R&D). CoE will accelerate AI adoption through applied research, take advantage of our digital ecosystem, and encourage open-source and open-innovation approaches," he concluded.
