Starting July 2025, People's Schools Are Ready To Be Held In Two Locations In Bogor

The Bogor Regency Government (Pemkab) through the Social Service has prepared two locations for the implementation of the People's School program, which is scheduled to start running in mid-July 2025, to coincide with the beginning of the new school year.

This program is designed as a form of equitable access to education for children from extreme poor families. Bogor Regent, Rudy Susmanto, called this program a tangible form of independence in the field of education.

"Decided school is not the end of the story. Now there is a new hope for children whose education had stopped. Hopefully both of them can go well," said Rudy, in his statement, Friday, July 11.

The two locations prepared for this program are the Suweno Integrated Integrated Center in Karadenan, Cibinong, for the junior high school level, and the Galih Pakuan Integrated Center in Ciseeng District for high school levels. Two other areas, Jasinga and Cariu, are also being prepared to follow as additional locations.

The concept of People's Schools adopts a boarding school model directed directly by the Ministry of Social Affairs. This program provides free, flexible, and friendly learning places for children from underprivileged families. In addition to academic lessons, the curriculum also includes leadership learning, life skills, health and nutrition, as well as planting nationalism and character.

"This program not only provides access to education, but also creates a safe and educational growth space for children who have had difficulty accessing formal education," added Rudy.

Head of the Bogor Regency Social Service, Farid Ma'ruf, explained that currently there are 67 students registered in this program, consisting of 50 high school students and 17 junior high school students. All of them have gone through the selection and verification process based on data from extreme poor families compiled by the Social Service.

Farid said the learning process would be divided into two study groups to maximize student character assistance and development. The facilities provided include dormitories for students and teachers, as well as classrooms with modern learning facilities.

"This is not just an educational program, but also part of building the future of children from extreme poor families," explained Farid.

The People's School is President Prabowo Subianto's program of ideas that aims to glorify poor families and open up opportunities for revival for small communities. His vision is to produce agents of change from every poor family through quality education that is able to break the chain of poverty between generations.
